Portland and Back Again

Life

Wow, what a weekend. For those of you who didn’t know, I was in Portland this past weekend at the Largest LAN Party on the West Coast. PDXLAN. 800 attendees, 75 hours of LAN party fun, and all the Caffeine you can ingest. Good times. Not as much fun as the 500 attendee parties they had been throwing, but still fun just the same. I have yet to edit any of the photos I took, so you’ll just have to wait to see them. Also, they didn’t have internet access except from Intel’s promo booth and you can only imagine the lines….

I have to admit, I didn’t spend the entire weekend at the LAN. Thank God! My good friend Clay was kind enough to let me stay at his apartment located on the West end of Burnside Ave. Since the expo center was located approximately one half mile from Vancouver, WA, you can only imagine the commute we undertook twice a day. Thank God, for Trimet. Clay and I had a great time hanging out in downtown Portland. Between, McDonald’s at 3am and Microbrews all weekend long I have to say I had much more fun with Clay then sitting at the LAN.

All in all, it was a good LAN. Unless they were to make it 500 attendees again and move it back to the old venue, I think I might be done with PDXLAN. Oh yes, and Mr. Gizm would have to be present as well.

Well in $NON_GEEK related news, with only two weekends before school starts my schedule is already booked. This approaching weekend my second set of brothers (stevie, jason and tyler rodgers) are finally coming back from San Diego. Jason for good and Stevie and Tyler just for the weekend. The purpose of their 1100 mile trek is their oldest brother, Brandon, took the plunge and got married to his long time girlfriend, Melody. Brandon and Melogy Rodgers (wow that sounds weird) just returned from their honeymoon in all to exciting Las Vegas and will be hosting a wedding reception. Tales of drunken mayhem will soon follow.

The following weekend Mr. Illiterate, Mr. Gizm and I will be spending a copious amount of free money in the great metropolis of spokompton…I can’t wait. Shopping with two gay men can only end in great fashion.

Ok I need to unpack, shave, shower and try to track down Mr. Gizm for dinner plans. Maybe I’ll wear my new Fossil shirt, hmm, I’ll think on that one. Later.

Yay! Glad you got to hook up with old buds at the PDX thang — although I was disappointed you didn’t write about your adventures in Portland’s ghey ghetto. I was really looking forward to hearing about your trip to the bath house… Probably just an oversight that you forgot to write about it. . And yeah, good times cumming in 5 more daze! Shopping, eating, and circle-jerking in the metropolis of Spo-Ka-Loo! I’ve already got Granny’s cli-Taurus washed and cleaned up in preparation for the upcoming journey. Should be a hoot!

    Funny Story:
We were out walking around on Burnside and I swear (sware?) I saw a bath house with wi-fi!! Didn’t stop in though.

Wet WiFi and Wieners, gotta love Portland. Actually though, the bath house upstairs from Silverado, a semi-famous drag club, actually has a nice little computer(s) room in it with really fast internet. Not that I’d know, of course…
