Wordpress Plugins
A Few Great WordPress Tools
I’ve been wanting to start blogging more about php coding. Especially the little snippets that I’ve been writing to quench my curiosity. But before I can do that, I need a way to format the code that I will be outputting so that you can enjoy the pretty colors along with my dizzying comprehension of the php language. CodeHighlight is a plugin that will do just that. It has quite a list of supported languages too. Here is an example of some outputted code that has been formatted by CodeHighlight:
echo "Hello World!";
?>
Another great plugin that I found is Admin-Tiger. It actually doesn’t provide any functionality, but it does make your admin section look much prettier than the original WordPress Admin Section. Keep in mind that this plugin only works with browsers that support CSS 2.0. So all you Internet Exploited out there won’t notice any changes if you install this plugin.
Last but not least on today’s list of sweet WordPress tools is w.Bloggar. w.Bloggar is categorized as a desktop blogging client. It allows you to manage your blog from your desktop. It even comes with a decent WYSIWYG editor. It’s not exactly XHTML compliant, but I’m not complaining. Plus, I really haven’t torn into the settings and options yet to see. w.Bloggar works with nearly every major blogging application including Movable Type (shuns). It really is a great program if you blog multiple times a day or host multiple blogs. All those accounts and URLs and passwords can get confusing. w.Bloggar allows you to create and save multiple blogging accounts for easy and quick access. I almost forgot the best part, it’s free!

It is kinda kewl, this Admin-Tiger. Upon your suggestion, I downloaded and installed it, too. It ain’t no TextEdit (NotePad for you Winblows heathens), but it gets the job done. And I actually like it, sort of. I still think Ecto is the way to go for a “desktop blogging” client though. It ain’t free, but it has a shit-load of nice features, AND it works with OS X. That CodeHighlight is sexor, glad you found it.
