Two New Betas
Today, I was accepted into two exclusive betas. Well atleast I thought they were exclusive. I was accepted into the Flock Developer Preview. Which, I have to admit, made my day. Turns out that just about anyone interested in Flock was added to the “Flock Developer Preview”. Oh well, atleast I have it now. For those of you who don’t know what flock is, it is a new web browser with many social websites integrated into it. For instance everytime you bookmark a page, flock will add that bookmark to your del.icio.us links. Another great feature, as you can see from the screenshot, is integrated Flickr topbar. This allows you to view a Flickr user’s entire photo album without have to click through each individual picture one by one. Also, if you want to view the larger version of an image, just drag it into the main browser window. Done and done.
The other beta I received an invite to is for the new blog search engine Sphere. I know there quite a few blog search engines out there, but Sphere offers something a little different.
Sphere is a new kind of blog search engine that uses an advanced algorithm to discover high-quality, relevant, and timely blog posts.
Sphere not only returns extremely relevant blog posts, but offers a profile about each blog in it’s index. In this profile useful stats are displayed such as: the average posts per week, average words per post, and average links per post, as well as it’s blogroll. Per search, Sphere also displays blogs that are related to your search in the far left column along with non-blog news articles.
On a non-related ending note, Google updated their page ranks today. I jumped a full point, as did one of my good friends.

Nick:
I would love to extend an invite to you, but sadly I see no option for that anywhere on sphere’s website. If you know someone that has managed to send an invite to someone else, let me know how they did it and I’ll be more than willing to send one your way.
