Today I had the pleasure of chatting with the Business Technology & Service Division Chair, Lynn Mathers about the observation she had made about my class here at LCSC. If you didn’t already know, this semester I had the privilege of teaching a class on the glorious programming language PHP. This is my first teaching experience and to be honest, I wasn’t sure how I was doing. Lynn shared her observation with me.
“From what I saw, you conducted your class very professionally while in an informal setting.”
That actually made me feel very good about the time and effort I had put into the class. All of my students had expressed similar feelings, but it wasn’t the same hearing it from them. Those darned college kids. You never know if they are sucking up or not. At any rate, it was nice to hear such words of encouragement from a seasoned veteran of the educational profession, or something.
I also mentioned to Lynn my interest in possibly teaching the class again at a later time. She informed me that it was definitely a possibilty. So here’s to my budding career as an Internet Entrepreneur / Web Development Instructor. Not to sound cawky, but I’d love to teach a class about marketing for the internet. I’m no expert, but I’ve definitely been reading alot of material on the subject lately.
